Undergraduate Pass/Fail Option Spring 2020Undergraduate Pass/Fail Option Spring 2020Office of the Registrar Emergency Grading Accommodation: Spring 2020 This emergency grading accommodation goes into place on March 27, 2020 and will be active for the Spring 2020 semester to address the global health pandemic. This accommodation temporarily replaces Academic Regulation 50: Pass, Fail Grading Options. The deadline to request Pass/Fail grading is June 1, 2020. Pass/Fail (P/F) Grading As of March 27, 2020, WSU will expand the pass/fail option for undergraduate students. Undergraduate students enrolled in undergraduate courses may choose the pass/fail option for any or all registered courses in the Spring 2020 semester. Students are strongly advised to check with their advisor before changing a course to Pass/Fail. Instructor/Advisor approval is not required, however the change may impact pre-requisites and many degree requirements. Please read the information below carefully. P (Pass) Grades PP (Pass) Grades F (Fail) Grades More Information P = A, B, or C grades Not calculated in GPA Course may not be repeated. Credits will count toward degree pre-requisites and many degree requirements. Still, check with your advisor. PP = C-, D+, or D grades Not calculated in GPA Course may be repeated. Credits MAY count toward degree requirements and pre-requisites. Check with your advisor. F = F grades Calculated in GPA Course may be repeated. The emergency grading accommodation is for Spring 2020 only. The Pass/Fail (P/F) option is for undergraduate students taking undergraduate courses only. No limit to number of P/F courses for Spring 2020. If you are enrolled in a shorter session (less than 15 weeks), and the session has ended, the course is not eligible for Pass/Fail grading. The deadline to request is: June 1, 2020 You can change your mind. The deadline to convert a P/F course to graded is: June 1, 2020. How it works: Your instructor will assign a final grade (A-F) in the final grade roster. WSU will convert A, B, or C grades to P (Pass), C- or D grades to PP (Pass), or F grades to F (Fail). Instructor/Advisor approval is NOT required. At this time, the grading scale for graduate students will not be changing for the Spring 2020 semester. You have previously been deficient or have a cumulative GPA below 2.0. You have financial aid or scholarship considerations. How do I change my grades to Pass/Fail? Request P/F using the Pass/Fail Option Form. You can use one form for multiple classes. Deadline to request: June 1, 2020. Please allow 3 -5 business days for processing, though requests may take longer during high volume periods. If you are graduating Spring 2020, the request will be reviewed by Graduations and your advisor prior to processing. I want my class(es) to be Letter Graded How do I change my grades back to Letter Graded if I previously submitted a Pass/Fail Option Form? First, your courses will automatically be Letter Graded. No further action is needed UNLESS you have previously submitted a Pass/Fail Request. If you do want to change your classes BACK to Letter Graded, make your request using the Letter Graded Change Form. You can use one form for multiple courses. Deadline to request: June 1, 2020. Please allow 3 - 5 business days for processing, though requests may take longer during high volume periods. If you are graduating Spring 2020, the request will be reviewed by Graduations and your advisor prior to processing. The form doesn't look right?
